Dear Sir / Madam

Greetings from Vishwakarma Institute of Management (VIM) !!

VIM invites Academicians, Research Scholars, Technical Experts, Practicing Professionals, Policy Makers, Entrepreneurs & Management Students to its 5th National Conference during 21-22, February 2014 at Pune.

The conference provides an opportunity for the individuals from academia, research and industry from different domains of business to exchange their views and share the experiences on the conference theme of “The SMAC Code – Embracing New Technologies for Future Business”- (Social Media, Mobile Computing, Analytics & Cloud Computing)

The 5th National Conference on "The SMAC Code” aims to build upon the momentum created by the success of earlier 4 conferences which fostered a gathering of renowned researchers, academicians as well as corporate leaders.

Conference Theme:

SMAC is an acronym for Social media, Mobile devices, Analytics and Cloud computing.

Dynamic environment and technology shifts often change the rules of the game. Convergence of technology has brought options and opportunities. Today, modes of connecting with the customers have multiplied and customers have also become more educated and more aware. So, one has to always innovate to stay in the 'Top of Mind' game.

Existing business models may need a complete revamp to cope up with this change. In fact, yesterday's models are increasingly irrelevant as business becomes ever more virtualized, globalised and impacted by a steep demographic tilt toward millennial employees and customers.

SMAC is today’s buzzword. Businesses witness transformation that is perhaps more profound and driven by social, mobile, analytics and cloud technologies.  Businesses must move quickly to embrace the change enabled by SMAC because competitive advantage, market leadership, and profitable growth are at stake.

Social Media, especially networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and  Linkedin, are being used as sources of sharing news, a medium of interaction, a source for learning, a tool for gathering support for a cause and of course, marketing.  Mobile devices, especially the mobile (smart) phone has emerged as a prime tools for communication; separate devices such as a personal computer, a laptop, a phone, a camera and some others have finally ‘converged’ into a smart phone. Analytics, sometimes called Big Data Analytics, holds vast potential for providing intelligent analysis, and insights out of mountains of data which a modern organization routinely generates. Cloud computing expands the limits of storage of data, combining it with ease of access to both data and software. The impact of these advancements has potential to alter the way we live — and not just on a personal level. They have infiltrated the workplace too, creating an urgent need to rethink many proven business models.

This conference provides a platform to discuss the various dimensions of SMAC, opportunities and challenges that organizations are facing due to SMAC technology.
