I am running Win10.I reinstalled DsBudget after having a new hard drive installed.I installed Java Version 8 Update 60 Release date August 18, 2015.
I can open DsBudget and all my info for this month is there, but I get the following message when I click on anything-ie. setting;add new expense etc

Confused,

I am using Windows 10 / dsBudget 2.0.25 with Chrome (and tested on Edge) but I am not having any problems.

What do you see in your dsbudet.log? It should be located in a place like...
> C:\Users\<user username>\AppData\Roaming\dsBudget\dsbudget.log

Can you try reinstalling dsBudget and re-installing it again? It looks like you are missing some libraries installed by the installer.

If you look under your dsBudget install directory, you should find "tomcat" directory, and inside it you should find following directory.

/tomcat/webapps/dsbudget/WEB-INF/lib/

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  263965 Aug 12 02:01 commons-codec-1.9.jar
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  261809 Aug 12 02:01 commons-lang-2.4.jar
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  138956 Aug 12 02:01 commons-validator-1.3.1.jar
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  222577 Aug 12 02:01 divrep.jar
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  309293 Aug 12 02:01 jcommon-1.0.16.jar
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1425744 Aug 12 02:01 jfreechart-1.0.13.jar
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  391834 Aug 12 02:01 log4j-1.2.15.jar

If you don't see these files, I am guessing un/re-installing will fix put them back there.. I hope!

I checked those tomcat files and they were all there.I uninstalled Java 8 and DsBudget and reinstalled both.I am attaching the window that opens to both install and uninstall Dsbudget. It says "unavailable" on the uninstall, and the window looks different -like from an old operating system(Win7 or XP).Does this look normal to you? Any idea why it says unavailable when I go to uninstall it?Reinstalling both programs didn't fix anything.

I just downloaded the same version on Windows 10 and am getting the same error.  Is there a solution?

"Unavailable" probably comes from the missing company name for dsBudget installer. You can ignore it. It's using an old NSIS installer, so that's why you are seeing the legacy windows frame.

I just tried installing dsBudget on fresh Win10 with Java8. I was able to install it, but catalina stopped loading dsbudget's WEB-INF/lib for some reason so it didn't work. I will need to spend some time to troubleshoot this.

Meanwhile, I've been using docker version of dsbudget which should on win10. But you need to know how to use docker..

Folks,

I just tried to replicate the problem I was seeing the other day, but after installing the latest version of Java, and the latest version of dsBudget, everything worked like it should.. How typical!

So I am not sure how to troubleshoot this problem. Can you try reinstalling Java?

Hi Soichi,

I just uninstalled and reinstalled Java. I still have the same problem. I tried also using Microsfot Edge instead of chrome and I get the same message.

Can you also try re-installing dsBudget? Please be sure to reboot the machine when you reinstall dsBudget (old instance might be running).

Starhunter,

Let's move this issue to

Can you open a new issue, and copy / paste your server log there. It should be in C:\Users\<your_name>\AppData\Roaming\dsBudget\

I'm having the same issue.  Uninstalled and reinstalled both latest version of java (8, update 131) and dsBudget 2.0.25.  Also rebooted windows 7.  Any suggestions?
