Hello Board and Committee Chairs,
Thank you for all your hard work this year and for putting up with me as reluctant but now happy President! Please know that I appreciate everyone who donated 5 minutes of time up to 500 hours of time.
I am looking forward to seriously revamping our PTSA and our involvement with serving parents, serving teachers, and serving students. I hope for us to have a more clearly defined vision and be able to focus our efforts on the most important things. In that vein, I need a few things from you.
1. I have written a proposal for a new committee structure that I need your feedback on. As you are reading it, please consider what your responsibilities have been this year and how that would fit in to the new structure. Notice that as a chair of, for example, fundraising, you would not be doing boxtops and VIC and capital campaign, etc. We would have volunteers for each of those things and you would simply oversee.
2. Please let me know if you are willing to continue in your present role, or a newly designed role in the proposal.
3. Please send me a brief description of your duties you accomplished this year so I can use it to advertise for vacant positions.
4. Please invite your friends ( or your enemies) to join us on the Board next year. Spread the word!! Forward this email!
Again, thanks, and I look forward to working with you next year,
Gwen

Hi Gwen –
Somehow I made it onto this distribution list – I think it was when the DSA issue was being discussed. At any rate, right now we are not in the Durham Public schools, nor am I a Board member or committee member. Would you mind taking me off your distribution list?
Thanks,
Marlo
Thanks for letting me know. I cc’d the dsa-talk google group on this PTSA email ONLY as I am recruiting for next year’s Board. I thought folks who were interested in the School Board issues last fall might want to get involved with DSA in a more official capacity. Sorry this went to you—I generally hate unsolicited email also. The list that you want to get off of would be the dsa-talk google group, and I am not the administrator for that, so is guess you need to go through google to do that.
Thanks,
Gwen
Gwen – OK – thanks for pointing me in the right direction! No need to apologize for sending it – I am very interested in the goings on in DPS but thought you were sending this to a group of already committed parent…
Have a good weekend.
Marlo
Gwen, the only thing missing here are my duties monitoring the DSA PTSA email. Those duties include checking the email on a regular basis and forwarding emails to the appropriate person. Another task is sending out messages to the officers and the general membership when asked.
Thanks,
Joan

Gwen,
I would like to be more involved at DSA. I am looking for an independent job that I can do sporadically. I have four children in three schools and live almost 20 minutes from DSA so my time is limited. Please let me know if you have anything open!
Thanks,
Susan Rogers
