Avid VideoRaid problem

Hi all,

Who still knows this beast?

1. I no longer see the raid in Explorer
2. One drive has a red LED showing that it’s failed.
3. Third LED down on the front panel is red.
4. The LCD display shows “No network. LD0 offline”

I’m guessing that 2&3 are associated.
I’m guessing that 1&4 are associated.

Are they all associated? What does the no network message mean? Does anyone know what my next step should be? I have a spare drive that I can slot in where the red led is showing but then I guess I’d have to rebuild the raid?

Hi Tone,
If your raid is like mine then you should be able to access the UI with a network cable. If you can that, then you will be able to see what is wrong. When you hook it up to the network you must find out what ip adress it is using, to get to the login page. Next is to find out the password. From my memory, if I'm right, the user is Admin or Administrator

Hey Schy! I've been taking my stuff to Best Buy. They recycle all sorts of stuff. CRTS you have to pay for if those are still around, but the rest is free.

Sadly much if my DS went to an electronics recycling facility.

Old nitris box, avidraid, old adrenaline box, and old MOJO.  Not much use for that stuff except collecting dust, and a hell of a toe stubbing machine.

Hello, Schy.

 

Sorry I won’t be much help.

When the company upgraded from the “Purple Box”, nobody wanted it. They let me take it home.

I have the box, Graphics Tablet w/DS Keyboard Shortcut insert, Keyboard & Mouse. No external drives.

I have a DS mousepad, T-Shirt, Jacket, manuals, Lesson Book from in-person class and DS Install disks.

 

I’m not a hoarder, but I can’t seem to let go of it all. I’m so grateful to the Montreal Team as I don’t believe I’d be where I am today if it wasn’t for DS.

So, it sits as a really nice conversation piece that still fires up in Windows NT!

 

Good luck with your clean-up and thanks for allowing me to re-live the “good old days.”

Sadly, those travel cases probably have the highest value today of all the gear you listed. The HP would probably be XW 8600 or older, they are pretty useless nowadays.

As I think on the Purple rounded box buried in the back of my office closet, along with way too much copper based stuff. A one rack space BOXX, with the fan that could launch a drone.

DS ROCKED  - and yup...still got the shirt, mouse pad.. some others..

Drives went to recycler. Drive array chassis were nice and heavy steel, the recycler liked them too.. the magnette picked em up and dropped em in a BIG bin!!
