Hi,

Many of you might have heard that abhinav dube was thrashed in the GS interview with this series of questions:

Interviewer: What operating system do you use?
Abhinav: linux.
I: So tell me how a linux system boots up
A: (some stuff about bootloader, grub etc)
I: But tell me in more detail
A: (no answer)

So in hope that this does not happen to any of us (in case of dube, please also read "in future"), please read this link.

Ubuntu linux does not use this boot up model (the system V boot model). Instead, it uses a model based on "upstart".
Read more about it here.
