Hi Friends,

Here in Pune I've been working closely with an organic/ZBNF foods supplier, to get a detailed requirements listing ready for IT intervention that would drastically reduce a lot of manual overhead and help them in scaling up their operations : front-end for customers, product and customers management, ERP covering, orders processing, inventory handling, procurement management, accounting, reports, etc. I got to go deep into the nitty-gritties of their processes, especially when it comes to handling perishables like fresh fruits and veggies, and delivering with reusable packaging, and we've done a thorough exploration of what all can be automated.

We have been consulting with one IT solutions startup regarding this (it's a long time contact and they have worked a lot in IT solutions for social sector) and in the next couple of days we will have a good requirements spec to share with more folks. Primary choice is them, but we want to be open for more offerings and get to know about other innovations in this field. To share some platform detail, we are planning to use an integration of Prestashop and ERPNext.

So I'm looking for 2 kinds of people :

1. People who want to provide the IT solution or have an innovation to offer.

2. Other suppliers doing similar work who want the solution and can chip in towards the development cost.

We do plan on open-sourcing whatever we develop, but a large part of the costing will be towards server hosting and purchasing paid plugins and dedicated support, plus there will be considerable real-world work to do to get started, so the output won't be a zero-cost solution in any case. If folks get on board from the beginning then costs will be much lower as resources like hosting and paid plugins will be shared or bulk-bought; plus the other supplier's specific requirements may be addressed too in the same development cycle, and an in-development product is always cheaper to co-fund than buying a finished product.

Please get back soon if you find this interesting, and I'll share the detailed doc privately with you.
