Building and Theme-ing an Image gallery on Drupal 6 using only Views and CCK

Hi all,

Would love to hear what you have implemented in your image gallery. Currently mine is just too basic. It has -

A views page that lists all the images that have been uploaded via the CCK.

A taxonomy term view page for displaying images of a particular term. This is possible by using the taxonomy_rewrite module.

Both these pages are grids (3 columns wide) with a mini pager at the bottom.

I'm wondering what I could do to make it look more 'gallery like'. Some implementations I am thinking of are a drop down menu which lets the user browse 'albums' which are basically taxonomy terms. 

Attached is a sample of what I got. It usually shows 9 items per page before displaying the pager.

Feedback/constructive criticism would be really helpful.

If you are using drupal 7 then there is the media gallery module. It has support for ordering using drag and drop and lightbox or colorbox. If you are in drupal  6 then views gallery is also a good option. but your approach also looks good i would just add a lightbox to the images.
