I just finished a couple books by Mickey Hart (Greatful Dead Drummer)
who had come to B'ham with the Global Planet Drum Tour a while back.
One book is about his life and he has incorporated info about the
history and art of drumming. It's called "Drumming at the Edge of
Magic" and the second is more of a pictorial book on the history and
types of drums around the world. It's called "Planet Drum". I took
them out of the HSV library (they are going back today so they will be
available), but they are definitely books that I will be purchasing fo
my own private collection. The first book gives you a great
understanding of why you drum.

Don't Forget Drum Circle Sunday, I think because of the heat people
are showing up later now. To be safe no earlier than 4:30 to 5PM. Alot
of people like last week came after 6PM and that's when it started to
rock. If it is raining we can always play on the porch. Sounds cool up
there.
