Ugyen Wangchuk Institute for Conservation and Environment is organizing a research symposium at Clock tower on the 21st July. Details furnished below. Please participate.
The Bhutan Ecological Society invites abstracts of research presentations or poster exhibitions for its First Annual Environment Fair & Research Symposium that will be held 21 July 2013 at Clock Tower Square in Thimphu, Bhutan. Abstracts may describe ongoing or completed research or projects, or analyses of conversation issues, in any of seven focus areas:
- Sustainable Livelihoods (includes
human-wildlife issues)
- Waste Management
- Energy Resources
- Biodiversity Conservation (includes species-specific projects on wild flora and fauna)
- Water Resources
- Climate Change
- Agriculture Science (includes domestic livestock and crops)
All student submissions are eligible for the BEST STUDENT PRESENTATION AWARD or BEST STUDENT POSTER AWARD. These two prestigious awards are each accompanied by a
cash prize of 7500 Nu. All research presentation and poster authors who are current or recently graduated students will also be awarded Certificates of Participation. Students may apply for a travel grant to participate in the symposium.
To submit an abstract for a research presentation or poster exhibition, please download and fill out an Abstract Submission Form from our website, www.bhutanecologicalsociety.org.bt. Deadline for abstracts is Friday, 21 June 2013 (extensions may be requested via email).
