I completele agree with your views and again would like to open up this discussion another fold by putting a question to all

do we have a sharing culture in India?

If we participate in a central repository by sharing our own bibliographic data, it would allow libraries to have some uniformity in bibliographic data, avoid duplication of work, utilies human resources more efficiently, and more importantly avoid the inadvertant typographic errors in records.

I think we need to have some agency which can take care of these requirement at the first place and later start with DDS and ILL services as well.

1) Marketing of Library & its services: I don't have hesitation in saying that we lack in this department.

2) International Cooperation in Education and Training: I mean tying up with the bodies like ALA and similar associations.
