        Interesting topic to discuss about. Apart from 4 points you have mentioned I would like to add 2 more.

1) Marketing of Library & its services: I don't have hesitation in saying that we lack in the marketing of library services.
2) International Cooperation in Education and Training: I mean tying up with the bodies like ALA and similar associations.

Dear Professionals,

If you had all the powers, what are the few things you would like to change
in the Indian library scenario? I have following things in my mind:

+ DDS: Efficient Document Delivery Service with reasonable Indian pricing
+ Union Catalogue: Create a OCLC-like union catalogue for major libraries in
India
+ Resource Sharing: Promote a resource sharing ethic among the library
professionals
+ Training facilities: Provide training facilities on IT applications for
library professionals through-out the year. It can be weekly or bi-weekly
program as the need be.

Please add to this list anything you feel needs immediate attention of the
powers that be for us to have a system where people are drawn to libraries.
