Software`s modular structure drastically improves reliability because all units work as autonomous applications. If one module fails, other modules continue running. For instance if the `record` unit stops working, `watchdog` restarts it right away that viewers don`t notice anything because they are watching picture using a `playback` unit. The software makes `repeated` recording that the `hard drive full` situation never happens. The recording can be non-stop or it can be turned on by activity, human face detection, or by schedule. The program has pre-alarm and post-alarm recording. Playing back recorded video is pretty simple and performs on the surveillance computer as well as on remote pc through Web interface. The software does synchronized video playback for event examination from many cameras simultaneously. Also recorded files can be searched by date, time or by face detected. All recorded files can be encrypted and password protected.
