Hi folks!

Just created a small DropWizard (v. 0.8.0) bundle that enables Hystrix metrics to be made available to either Hystrix Dashboards, Turbine and/or the regular DropWizard /metrics.. It is made available under the Apache Licencse v.2.

You will find the sources at:

Just released version 0.1 to the Sonatype OSS repo so it should be available in Maven Central shortly. The impatient user will find directly at

If you have any comments feel free to submit an answer to this posing. Bug reports and/or feature requests are even more welcome and may be filed at https://github.com/zapodot/hystrix-dropwizard-bundle/issues

Best regards,

Have you looked at Yammer's Tenacity (https://github.com/yammer/tenacity)? Curious to hear how you think your bundle compares and whether there's an opportunity for the two efforts to learn from one another.

Hi Ryan, and thank you for your feedback!

Having looked at Tenacity for 5 minutes it seems to do a really nice job of incorporating Hystrix with DropWizard  as it comes with additional features such as the configuration utility that makes it possible to configure Hystrix using DW'sYML-file.

In my case, I didn't really need that level of integration between the two. In fact, the only thing I needed was an easy and reusable way to expose the Hystrix Metrics so that I could visualize it using both hystrix-dashboards and Graphite (using standard CodaHale/DW metrics). Having said that I will surely look more closely at the Tenacity project to see if there are other hidden treasures in there I haven't thought about :-)

Thanks again for the feedback!

Best regards,

Sondre
