logback configuration in dropwizard

So, Dropwizard logging is built on top of logback yet it has its own configuration. Can logback configuration be used as well? I've tried adding my logback.xml file and it doesn't appear to be taken up and applied. I ask because dropwizard logging seems somewhat more simplistic and I'd like to be able to use more of the feature in logback in my dropwizard application.

Hi Les,

you could override the Application#bootstrapLogging() method which is calling the BootstrapLogging class to completely avoid Dropwizard's custom configuration of the logging framework and fall back to Logback's defaults.
