is dropsync good for this?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a software to synchronise two external hard drives. 

I use my external hard drive a lot and want to have a second one as a security backup. Instead of copying everything all the time, it'd be great to just automatically synchronise the two. Is that what dropsync can do? If not, are there other programmes that are good for that?

Would really appreciate your insights.

Dear Judith Engel,

I’m assuming both external drives would be connected at the same time? Yes it’s brilliant. It will overwrite only when something has been changed and, in keeping with the underlying magic of the unix rsync command, it will also delete superfluous files if they have been deleted on the original drive. With solid state external drives it’s wonderfully fast.
