Dragged folders to dropbox before wiping computer and they're not there

I had a virus so had to wipe my computer. I dragged every file I owned into dropbox on my desktop and wiped my computer the next day. I saw the files in my dropbox on my computer but not the website. Now that my computer is wiped and up and running, I can't find the dragged files. Are they gone forever?
