Is Jboss EAP compatible with open source Drools kie-wb & Kie-server

I want to deploy kie-drools-wb & kie-server 6.3  on jboss EAP 6.2. I want to know if it  is compatible with JBoss EAP, because JBoss EAP is commercialized and drools is open sources.

if it is compatible, do i need to make some changes in server configuration.

We provide distributions of both kie-drools-wb and kie-server targeting EAP6.3 - you might need to refine a bit for 6.2. They should be available from the Drools download page.

Hi Michael, we have distributions for Open source Drools. But as we know that JBOSS EAP is an Enterprise version for which we need to subscribe it.

Please confirm If deploying Drools workbench 6.3 and Drools kie server 6.3 in Enterprise version on JBOSS EAP 6.2 is possible.

Or should I go for JBOSS BRMS (Enterprise Version )for workbench and Kie server.

Hi,

AFAIK you can deploy Open Source Drools Workbench and Kie Server to EAP.

However you'd only have a support contract with Red Hat for EAP and not Drools Workbench etc. If you want non-Community support for Drools etc you'd need to purchase BRMS or BPMS.

They are compatible, but we will only provide paid support the product versions of drools and jBPM - Red Hat BRMS and BPMS.

drools 6.3 is certified against EAP 6.4. We haven’t tested in versions earlier than that.
