Deploy drools-workbench on websphere 8.5

Hello all,

I've been trying to deploy drools-workbench on WAS8.5 for the past few days and I still can't do it.

I followed this tutorial (http://mswiderski.blogspot.com.es/2014/04/jbpm-6-on-websphere-installation-notes.html) and I'm able to go thorugh every step apart from the last one (the enterprise beans generated from my version - 6.3.0 - are different from the ones in the tutorial).

the root cause is not with configuration of ejb beans but it actually fails when accessing/building file system providers. Here is the mothod that does seem to fail somehow https://github.com/AppFormer/uberfire/blob/0.6.x/uberfire-nio2-backport/uberfire-nio2-api/src/main/java/org/uberfire/java/nio/file/api/FileSystemProviders.java#L46

you should see another exception before the one you pasted that is prefixed with:

Can't initialize FileSystemProviders

take a look at logs to see if there is any stacktrace that might give you bit more info.

I'm not able to find the exception you've mentioned. However, this begs the question: am I supposed to be "debugging" .class files located in the .jars within the .war file? What control do I have about the errors I might find?

Other question, in the unlikely event that I do end up solving this, do you know how to solve the issue regarding the beans? Or at least can you give some explanation about what they do or why they're different from the version of the tutorial? (I've actually downloaded the version used in the tutorial - 6.0.2 - and I don't even get the "Message Driven bean listener binding" available in the administration console...)

I do believe that is either configuration issue or access to file system as what it fails on is setting up .niogit file system that is used internally as repository. Since it is open source you can download source jars and debug it, emabing additional trace logs might help too. Maybe WAS prints out more info inFFDC files...

they are for async processing, in 6.3 and onwards it used jbpm executor for that which is backed by JMS for more efficient background processing.
