from where to start for jbpm customization

Hi All,

We want to add few customizations in JBPM based on our business requirements. mainly customization requirements on UI front. 

Is there any document about where to start, how to debug jbpm code, and how to customize it? 

I have downloaded code from github but it has lots of modules.
