Question from Mr. Sherwood:
I was hoping you may be able to help me out with a very frustrating problem I'm having with my DJI GO and Droneblocks apps. The DJI GO app loses its map cache and Droneblocks does not populate anything except for the telemetry data strip up top when wifi is not connected.

Map caching is something we've been investigating, but haven't yet found a consistent answer.

That said, the workflow that has been described to me is something like this:
1) when connected to wifi, open the map app that is the default for your tablet (google maps app or apple maps app). Or both to be sure!
2) zoom in on the area that you intend to fly and allow maps to load fully.
3) turn off wifi.

Perhaps this is the route you're already taking, but it has been suggested on more than one occasion and will hopefully help. We will continue investigating meanwhile.

Thanks Phillip, hope this helps!

Since my iPad mini doesn't have cellular one thing I always do is setup a hotspot on my phone. That way I can get my iPad on the network when I'm in the field. This allows me to preview missions with the map working fine. It's not the ideal solution, but wanted to share it until we figure out a good way to cache maps for offline use.
