I wanted to share a mission we did with our 4th and 5th graders a few weeks ago. We put together a small lesson plan to do an aerial panorama with DroneBlocks at our elementary school. Here is what the mission looked like:

Our lesson plan consisted of concepts such as how many degrees we should yaw and how many photos we should take. We also discussed "photo stitching" and demonstrated stitching software. In the example above we used Autopano Pro.


This mission was done prior to the latest version of DroneBlocks where we've added a "Loop" block. So now we can do something like this:


Looping is such a powerful programming concept that we're going to be introducing it to the students soon. Just wanted to share a fun mission that the kids enjoyed and got to see instant results.

Thanks for adding the loop block! As you mentioned, this is important when helping students understand basic coding and programming. It's even one of the first lessons we use with code.org for our second grade students!

For stitching these PTgui you have to pay to remove the watermark. I have had success with this program which is free called http://hugin.sourceforge.net/ Check it out
