We need  a few brave souls willing to beta test Martin's new software, the successor to the already fabulous Droidippy. Bear in mind that this testing and that the gaming experience will be flawed at first. You will be asked to poke around and articulate the flaws you see and any possibilities or features you would like to see. You will be asked to submit feedback via github so you'll need to create an account on github.com. I've set up a form for anyone who is interested. The beta will be closed at first meaning that I will only on board as many testers as I think I can manage. We will try to grow the pool as quickly as seems reasonable. The link to the sign up form us

Hope to see you soon. Let's help Martin create a fantastic app.

One question. Will this beta version involve variants?

As long as the beta be free, it shall be my pleasure to test it.

The beta is free. There will be variants. Fleet Rome for now. There will be others.

Several more questions actually.
First, is gameplay experience absolutely neccessary? I have a reliability point of merely 12.
Second, any other criterias to be a beta-tester?
Third, just asking, may I know of whoever runs this game? I have seen Chris' posts, and you, Sean, of course, and I have heard of a "Martin". May I also know of your respective roles in the running of the website and the app?
Fourth, how to access the beta, where to open/download it?
I believe that that is all of my questions. Thank you.

1. Gameplay experience is useful, so that you'll know problems when you see them. Not a requirement.
2. A willingness to think about how the experience might be improved and to keep an eye out for bugs and other problems. A github.
3. Martin wrote the software for Droidippy and is the main developer on its successor, Diplicity which is in beta testing.
4. Follow the link at the top of this post and convey your coordinates.

Sorry, I didn't answer all of question 3..
Chris Babcock runs the server where Droidippy run and pays the bills. He's the one that needs donations to keep the lights on. Droidippy is free to play but will last only as long as a good number of us are willing to help out with overhead. As Chris points out, the funds gathered are usually enough to keep the server up but they don't really pay for development or administration hours. I'm an interloper. I have done what I can to develop the community. I am acting as liason between the beta testers and Martin, who doesn't necessarily want to spend his time fielding questions. And believe me we want him to be in a good place, peaceful and zen...so he will make us a great game!!

As for your responses:
2. Never known of the github before, but will learn to use it. How does the github app work anyway?
4. As for the link above, I have created an account on github and entered the form, but cannot find any links to the beta apk/application.

Thank you.

UPDATE: We will be doing the feedback by google groups just like this forum. No github necessary!

Right, but then, how do you procure the download link for the apk?

App store? I happen to be a user of Android. Is the apk available from Android?

I'm going to close this thread to posting because I want the beta testers to use the beta forum. If you sign up using the link at the top of this thread, I'll onboard you as soon as possible. Once I've sent the invitation and you have clicked the link accepting it you will be on the beta channel. If you search for Diplicity on the app store before this you may find a version that is incompatible with nearly all devices, this is not the version you want. Once you're on the beta channel you will be able to see the beta version and install it (at the time of this writing it's version 112 but this may change quickly). Please post all comments or questions relating to the beta on the appropriate forum.
