I agree, I wouldn't build it again :/
It felt like angood idea at the time...
I might be alone in this, but I cannot stand the anonymous chat option... I've tried to think of a positive reason for why it exists, but I cannot think of anything. In a real diplomacy game, there is no way for you to anonymously talk to another player... Why is this an option in Droidippy?Btw, huge fan of the app and have been playing for 6+ months. Great work on developing it. Just wanted to share some feedback

The ability to not only post anonymously but even impersonate other powers is an available option on other servers. It presents fascinating possibilities... That no one will play because it's just not worth the headache.

Nothing is changing on droidippy. :-)
Diplicity is designed to be highly customizable, so the facility for anonymous chat is available in the software. How available it will be in games will depend on the player community.

No, private press isn't and won't be publicized in droidippy.
On the judges, there is no organized log of press to speak of - just raw logs of inbound and outbound mail. These logs include passwords and are not suitable for publishing. A game moderator can "watch all press" and collect an archive that way. USAK collects and logs outbound messages in a MySQL database. These are only made public when the players have agreed to it in advance of the game.
Martin and I haven't talked about archive capabilities in diplicity yet. I want the ability to access archives subject to permissions so that league owners can police their leagues for abuse and administrators in educational leagues can grade students on their work. While it's conceivable that some games might be made public, I don't see that as a popular option and I certainly wouldn't want to make it the default.

Also, back before Gmail, email headers used to have the IP address of the sender. So, if the two players were using the same internet connection that would show in the logs. That was considered a trade secret of judge keepers back in the day, so it wouldn't have been cited as a reason for the ban. Access to IP addresses is a primary motivation for adding a web interface to a judge. And logging IP addresses is how most web based adjudicators detect duplicate position cheats.
I've been running a Diplomacy judge for years, though, and players only want press published to make a game a showcase game, not to deter cheating. Most players are afraid that having their press published will reveal their tells. :-)

The rules say that if you keep on spamming insults after being told to stop, or if you are generally an asshole, you can be banned.
Thus it is reportable, merits warnings and unless it stops immediately even banning.
Anon chat is nothing but trouble, it's supposed to be used to give information to someone without revealing identity, even if it's fake info. But what it's actually used for is immature kids using it to swear and insult, and sense people who insult without swearing can't be banned, they have had a free reign to do insult ad they want, even though some insults can be worse than swear words
But I admit that the anon chat was probably a mistake :/
http://www.oort.se/2011/08/droidippy-gameplay-faq.html#rules covers it.
Well that's a relief! I thought only swear words get you banned.
