Hello,

I am working on machine running Windows 10 Enterprise with the following Java version:
java version "1.8.0_371"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_371-b11)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 25.371-b11, mixed mode, sharing)

I've downloaded droid-binary-6.6.1-bin and droid-binary-6.6.1-bin-win32-with-jre

When I run droid.bat as admin from either download package I see the green and blue DROID loading interface; however, the application does not launch from that point. I've waited a fair amount of time (30+ minutes), but the application has not yet launched on this particular computer. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this issue is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for sharing the error with us on here.  Have you used DROID on this computer before? If so which version? Have there been any recent changes internally? This is an interesting issue, and hard to know what is going on because you've eliminated the issue potentially being the java version by trying both downloads (one with java packaged and the other without). I'm wondering if anything has been picked up in the .log files? If you go to the .droid6 folder, which is created in C:Users/[username] on the installation of DROID. There should be a logs folder. Would you be able to share the results if so, either the most current one or the one on the date you had the error? It will also be interesting to know if the .droid6 file exists, as that will help us understand more where it has been breaking.

Thanks,
Francesca

Hi Francesca,

Thanks for the reply. I have attached the log files from the .droid6 directory. I had previously had 6.5 version installed, but don’t seem to recall being able to drag and drop files into the interface in that version. I can’t say if there have been any changes made internally or updates implemented from our IT department.

Thanks for your assistance.

Tracy

Hi Francesca,

I deleted all of the DROID files stored on my computer, redownloaded the Windows install package, and reran DROID.  I am now able to drag and drop content into the DROID interface. Thanks for taking the time to respond to this issue!

Best,
Tracy
