Hello!
I have been having issues with DRIOD freezing and becoming unresponsive when I am navigating the directory. I get through the first few folders and then DRIOD becomes unresponsive. I tried updating my DRIOD to the 6.7.0 Version but I am still having the same issue. Do you know what might be causing this?

Thank you,
Anastasia

Hi Anastasia,

Do you have any statistics about the folders? e.g. number of sub-directories or individual files? (I tend to see such slowdown when there are hundreds of small objects for example).

Cheers,
Ross

Hi,
Thank you for the info! The DRIOD file is in our internal drive so there are quite a few folders and subfolders where it is located, would moving it to the C-drive help?

Best,
Anastasia

Hi Anastasia,

I wouldn't move anything but if you have any ways of getting more statistics that might be helpful, Tree on linux provides a neat summary file and directory count: https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/tree-command-unixlinux/

It sounds like maybe the network connection might have an impact?

Practically, I don't have too many tips. Running DROID from the command line (no-profile mode) might be more performant (rather than navigating the UI) and Siegfried will also provide comparable results. There might be folks out there with more experience modifying java commands, e.g. upping the amount of memory used and so forth which might also help but I haven't too much experience getting positive results out of that.

NB. I wonder if more folks are looking at the DROID GitHub whether it might be a good idea to follow up on this conversation there to see if others have more practical advice?

Best,
Ross
