We don't have java installed on our PCs and our IT department make it difficult to get anything altered.

I get the error message "Windows cannot find javaw" when I try to run droid.bat.

On GitHub it says "For Windows users who might not be able to install JAVA, the provided bundle includes JAVA 11", but I've no idea how to make this work.

Thanks

Hello,

The next version of DROID (6.5) will have two download options - 'unbundled' and 'bundled' - the bundled version will include the openJDK libraries required to run DROID withiout requiring a separate Java installation. We are currently in the process of testing the release candidate for this version, which I hope to be able to make available within the next few weeks. There will be an announcement made on the DROID Google Group when the release is official.

You are welcome to test this release candidate if you wish, which can be found here: https://github.com/digital-preservation/droid/releases/tag/droid-6.5-RC2 - specifically the link at the bottom of the page 'droid-binary-6.5-SNAPSHOT-bin-win32-with-jre.zip', however please be aware that this is a pre-release version and will likely contain bugs that are yet to be fixed in advance of the proper full release.
