Ihave a 3COM 4200G 48 port switch (3Com Switch 4200G 48-Port Software Version 3Com OS V3.02.07s168). The 3COM website has been buried by HP. However; some while ago when I didn't have time to do it, I read somewhere that there is an upgrade path for the firmware to a newer HP version. So that, for example, it will stop complaining about an unsupported browser.

Can anyone point me to the page to download a newer version of the firmware, as in the upgraded HP firmware? And, instructions on how to do the conversion to the new HP firmware? And if possible, enough information so that I will know going forward how to find the updates myself so I can keep the switch updated?

We have a Laserjet 4200tn. When you first power it on, it displays "LOAD FILE AND EXECUTE". We discovered through trial and error that if you hit the down arrow to where it says 'Run' and click the check button 3 times, the printer will run the firmware and everything loads as it should. Printer works fine after that. But if it loses power or is cut off, it comes to the same screen. We tried to reload the firmware but this did not help. Is there a way to tell it in the firmware menu to automatically run the firmware on startup? Thank you.

Thanks for the help, but the Cold Reset was not even an option from the Load File and Execute menu. After digging around in the menu, I found an option that said something like 'Set runmode to manual'. I arrowed down to this and it let me change it to Auto. After this it works fine. Strange that this firmware menu isn't really documented anywhere, even in the service manual. Thanks again.

If you hold down the pause/resume button whilst powering on the printer until all 3 lights come on the press the left arrow key and then press the tick button this will clear the internal hard drive and power up as normal

1. Turn the printer power off.

2. Turn the printer power on, and then hold down (SELECT button) when the memory count begins.

3. After the message SELECT LANGUAGE appears on the display, press the UP ARROW button, or DOWN ARROW button until COLD RESET is highlighted.

4. Press the SELECT button. The printer performs a cold reset, and then continues its power-on sequence.

I want the 6mm version of this camera, and can't find it from a US vendor. I have contacted a Ailliexpress vendor who says their cameras come with firmware version 5.1.6 "English version" - whatever that means.

I can positively confirm the Chinese cams updated to firmware 5.1.2 or later no longer are able to be used with iVMS4200. I have been using iVMS4200 on my cams since version 5.0 firmware but after updating to 5.1.2 the no longer worked without the hack.

It's possible that the block on Chinese cams was only introduced into iVMS4200 in the most recent release. It seems likely that iVMS4200 would need to check the cam somehow and determine if it is a Chinese or US cam before allowing it to be used.

It helps but it is not exactly what I need. I cannot use any external debugger to upload new firmware. I only have access to USB port (or a UART port in any case) and I would need to use only a PC, without debugger. Would it be possible?

TUF Gaming AX4200 is designed to give you stable and fast wireless and wired connections in device-dense environments. It's a router that benefits all your devices, from laptops, smartphones, and game consoles right down to all the IoT devices in your home.

WiFi 6 provides faster wireless speeds with OFDMA, BSS coloring and MU-MIMO technologies, and it also boosts network efficiency, so all your devices get their fair share of WiFi bandwidth. It's perfect for busy networks with lots of different WiFi devices, such as laptops, smartphones and smart home devices.

We've designed TUF Gaming AX4200 to give you the widest possible WiFi coverage. It uses OFDMA, a new technology in WiFi 6 that allows signals to travel further than they can in WiFi 5. Along with other enhancements like beamforming, which focuses the signal towards each device, TUF Gaming AX4200 reaches every corner.

TUF Gaming AX4200 is engineered to deliver maximum WiFi performance. The vent location and heatsink design improve cooling for increased stability, and the fixed antennas and metal port protectors increase physical durability.

Home network security is crucial when you have multiple connected devices, and even more so when there are devices without anti-virus capabilities such as IoT devices. TUF Gaming AX4200 includes lifetime free AiProtection Pro, including the latest WPA3 security protocol and advanced Parental Controls. Every device is protected with TUF Gaming AX4200, and you can keep an eye on everything that's happening on your network via the handy mobile app.

The Netgate 4200 BIOS may need updating for security fixes or other stabilityimprovements. The BIOS cannot be updated automatically, it must be updatedmanually. This document describes a simple method for updating the BIOS using aUSB mass storage device.

Updating the BIOS is relatively straightforward but requires rebooting thedevice and accessing the BIOS configuration. The device will be offline duringthis time, so these actions must be performed from a local serial console eitherdirectly connected to a client system or by other means of out-of-band access.

We provide leading-edge network security at a fair price - regardless of organizational size or network sophistication. We believe that an open-source security model offers disruptive pricing along with the agility required to quickly address emerging threats.

Hi.

I was wondering if you have thought of developing OpenWRT for the Linksys mx4200 (mx4000 series) router. I just bought a pack of 2 Velop mx8400 (mx4200 each) and I am not very happy with the official firmware.

Chances are that it will be supportable in the future (ipq807x is an interesting topic with OpenWrt in mind), but that doesn't magically imply that every ipq807x device will actually get OpenWrt support - as that also depends on someone with the device on their desk to do the actual porting (for which pricing and availability, just as well as the question how difficult the vendor has made it (keywords firmware format/ factory support, serial console access, etc.) are major factors).

Indeed, I could find in google a publication in Chinese in which the mx4050 router has been disassembled and explains all its internal components. In this publication he comments that the mx4050 model marketed in China is the same European mx4200 model, the one I have.

I don't know if this can be used to develop an OpenWRT firmware, I don't understand much about routers or this type of compilation. But I was able to get the sysinfo that generates the official Linksys firmware and I sent it here.

(I have covered my personal data, external IP and email within my possibilities).

The next step is to get an image compatible with the IPQ8174 platform. This requires patching the OpenWRT kernel to support it which is beyond my skillset. I think it will be resolved when the kernel is bumped to a newer version, but that is in the hands of the OpenWRT maintainers.

considering we have correct ipq807x support... did anyone tried to load an initramfs image on these device and check if they works? it's really for testing but it might be a good idea to check if this soc is just a ipq807x rebranded

I connected the Asus-TUF-AX4200 to my computer using the ethernet 1 port, followed the instructions up to the point where i saw a menu that had an option to upload firmware.

This is the filename of the firmware i tried to flash:

openwrt-23.05.2-mediatek-filogic-asus_tuf-ax4200-initramfs-kernel.bin

As you see on the screenshot the install failed, what am i doing wrong?

I cannot download the file openwrt-23_tuf-ax4200-initramfs.tr, the link loads and then everything turns grey and google shows a notification "you are offline" which is complete bullshit otherwise the link wouldnt even load and i couldnt be on this forum rn.

The definition of paranoia is when an individual believes that hes beeing watched or followed.

Google is actively doing mass surveillance every nobrainer knows this so your wording here is pretty acquard.

what do you mean log on?? login to google? pretty ignorant towards my previous comments.

i do not use google, common sense tells you i do not have a google account.

to be honest its pretty disturbing being called out paranoid because of a negative standpoint towards google on an openwrt forum which is essentialy a free and open source software.

foss users using google, wooossh thats genious.

f*ck google.

i ended up using a second device with no firewall to get that file from stup!d google drive but atleast openwrt is installed and updated now, thanks for all your help everyone, problem solved, thanks again i appreicate your effort.

This installation will install the 42XX Firmware Updater and the 42XX Security Utility. These utilities are meant to be installed on a computer that can be connected via a USB cable to a 4200 or 4250 tester.

This is the initial release of the 42XX Security Utility. This utility allows you to restrict access of certain tester menus unless a password is entered on tester, thereby ensuring that operators do not make unauthorized changes on the tester.

The tester is equipped with an internal calibration verification routine that can be used with a Cirris performance check kit. The calibration verified and due date is be saved to the tester and reported to the Cirris Hub.
