You sent this to drmemory-users instead of dynamorio-users, but you talk about running DynamoRIO, not Dr. Memory.  Which one are you using?  Which version?

nop_modrm encoding works fine in other contexts so the encoding error doesn't make sense.  Can you run with -loglevel 4 and paste in the last few dozen lines of the log file?
