I'm pretty sure Mary and I are talking about different versions of the Hardwick (Tadpole and Puddle Jumper) carriage. The weight of my Hardwick Tadpole is nowhere near 280 pounds, more like just over half that.

I am looking at the various marathon carriages out there for mini pairs...I am just wondering what people's opinions are on the different type of carriages (Glinkowski, I like the weight factor on these, they seem reasonable etc, Kutzman, really expensive to get in my neck of the woods, seem like a really nice marathon vehicle, Tadpole production time is too long, look nice, light weight,) Am I missing some of the other carriages out there, if so what would your pick be and why, or what do you drive currently with mini pairs. Cheers Katie --
I have had my Glinkowski Mini Wagonette for coming up to 8 years now. My VSEs are on the larger end (38.5”) so I ordered larger wheels than standard. I think 20” was standard, I ordered 24”. Diane is right, larger wheels roll over bumps easier.
I have put lots of miles on mine and have broken several things on it, but the dealer (Driving Essentials) has always been stellar about standing behind their product. I think if I were to start over I would look for something tougher – harder to do without getting heavier I know. But maybe I’m exceptionally hard on mine. And I really like the looks of it and how proportioned it is to my horses.

Rachel did you get the standard one or the deluxe ?

My Glinkowski is not the heavier version I believe (they were quite new then) but it DOES have the ball-bearing fifth wheel (which was a feature of the heavier one), so I’m not really sure how to classify it.
