RachelO, I know you're trying to help, but long before I put an entry in here I've already done all the reasonable things like trying every installer I can find. This time doing what you told I ended up with:
Talking to Lastpass has been utterly useless - they tell me to use the "Universal Windows installer". It doesn't put the desktop vault on. Then they tell me to install it from the Microsoft store. That has NEVER WORKED. I always get exactly the same worthless error - 0x80073CF3.
ONE of the three computers has a BRAND NEW, shiny, unsullied version of Windows 10 Pro that I just installed. And installed Lastpass using the Universal Windows installer that puts it in all the browsers and whatever, and if I understand correctly, ALSO installs the Windows desktop version.
Thanks for giving that a try. If you skip clicking the LastPass icon on your desktop and instead search for the LastPass for Windows Desktop app in your Windows start menu, does this open a browser window as well? Opening the desktop app should not open a browser window. If it does open a browser window, please contact our technical support team so that they can further investigate this error. I realize there is a global software task for LastPass Chrome, however lastpass provides an MSI that gives quite a bit more options.
Has anyone built a software deployment that gives the options to install the software, deploy the plugin to Firefox, Edge,chrome?
This discourages me from uploading this to global due to the required login to obtain the installer. However, you should be able to use the instructions in the link to obtain an MSI and upload it to Immy. The default MSI install script should work fine for this.
So, while it may not land in the global installers list - what you can do is download it for 1 client, and add a mandatory configuration task called $CID and then you have a generic installer for it, and each customer gets their own specific deployment for it with their $CID set.
The Universal Windows installer installs browser extensions for Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Opera. It also allows you to create a LastPass account and import your existing passwords. It's the best way to install LastPass on Windows. The 64 bit install includes 32 bit IE installer.
I installed chrome locally, I am trying to deploy the extension via GPO. What I want is when a new machine is started, the GPO will be enabled. This is a VDI deployment and I have lastpass working with IE, just can't get it to autoenable in chrome.
