Drisha had a great presence at the JOFA conference over the weekend. We connected with former students from all of our programs and met many new people - including college and high school students. There was definite interest in our various programs (also a desire for evening classes) and that will be"H yield applicants and attendees. You will also see many people walking around with Drisha cell phone card holders!
I want to note that I connected briefly with Yoni Brafman so we should follow up with him. I also spoke with Diane Fenner Zwillenberg, president of Kohelet, and she mentioned looking into their matmidim program for the HS program and the Kohelet Foundation prize (for innovative education). Rabbi Silber, we can speak more about this.
Hope everyone's having a meaningful MLK day!

Hi Neesa,

Thanks so much for this update and thank you for all the work you did at the conference, organizing our publicity material, fielding inquiries at the Drisha table and networking.

Thank you Jordana for ensuring that our materials were updated timely, and our swag items purchased and ready to go.

I agree with Neesa's assessment that Drisha presence was strong at the conference overall. There is a lot of interest in our programs. I spoke with high school students, college/grad school students as well as adult learners and stakeholders in the community who are interested in deep learning and committed to our vision. It was especially nice to hear from a number of presenters of the ways that Drisha has impacted their lives and learning.

I look forward to building on this strength.

Presenters publicly commented on Drisha's role in their learning? That's great!

Hi - yes! I heard at least two!

Also, in the opening plenary when discussing the evolution of learning and opportunities through past decades, Drisha was mentioned as formative as well.

On a separate but related note - the High School track - new this year - was very strong and well designed. There were over 50 students who participated (men and women) and so the demographic is one to keep targeting, as it will naturally lead into all other programs here.

Shkoyach also to Wendy, people loved your session and I saw that it was very well attended, and to Yael Jaffe (not in this google group), who spread the word about our programs over Shabbat at the inter-collegiate shabbaton, as well as at the conference.

Thanks!
Several of our high schools students came to my session - they were, as always, totally fabulous :)
