I tried looking at Facebook messengers support page, but they didn't offer the solution I was looking for. My friend recently passed away and I would like to download our past conversations for safe keeping, but I am unsure how to do this. Does anyone have advice on how to go about this? I appreciate any help you can offer.
I am testing Web Messenger with the conversation Auto Start feature enabled on my web messenger configuration. I also am testing in an environment with the Web Messenger threading timeline set to 0. The documentation states that " Under Automatically Start Conversations , select whether to allow automatic start of conversations. When this feature is turned On , conversations are initiated automatically, when the end-user expands the Messenger window."
This works excellently when I initiate a web messaging interaction the first time - the auto start sends the message. Then, the customer can interact with the agent and disconnect. However, I'm having trouble understanding when conversation auto start will "re-trigger", when the customer comes back to the web messaging widget. I've noticed that after the conversation disconnects, and the customer minimizes the widget, then re-opens the widget.. conversation auto-start does not initiate.
Hello. Your observation is correct: at the moment, auto-start will trigger only for brand new "Guest" sessions (which are completely unrelated to threading timeline). The object is to capture end-user's initial attention and engagement. Once the Guest session is started, the auto-start will not apply anymore, as the assumption is that end-user is already aware of the ongoing async conversation. We may expand logic in future, based on use-cases and customer demand.
Once the Guest session expires (after 72 hours of inactivity), the auto-start logic will reset.
As always, you can report conversations that violate our Community Standards. The remove message for everyone feature is available for Messenger users around the world on the latest versions of iOS and Android.
There are many reasons why you might want to download your Facebook Messenger Chat history: You may want to save a certain Messenger conversation or you just want to have a backup outside of Facebook. Maybe also you are one of the #deletefacebook people and are looking for a way to backup your data.
Click into the conversation and reply, just like any other conversation. The customer will see your reply in Messenger. Further replies from the customer will appear right back in this conversation in Help Scout.

I use "Pidgin" on Ubuntu instead of Yahoo Messenger, and i recently noticed that when i am offline and somebody writes me, "Pidgin" won't show it to me as offline messages, or when i write to my friend by "Pidgin" while my friend is offline, he won't get my offline messages either, and i didn't see an option to see conversation history. how can i fix these 3 problems?
I'm looking for something in Facebook marketplace and message a number of people to check availability and offer a price.
Eventually someone will reply to me and I want to go back to the ad to check the details but I don't seem to be able to do that from the messenger chat.
Am I stupid or is this not possible?
To go back to the advert you've been messaging about......
Goto Market in Facebook app (not messenger) click onto your Profile Icon, then click Inbox, there you will find the conversation. When you click on the conversation, it opens up a combined advert/chat history, there you'll see the original advert.

The crucial thing to do is to SAVE any ad you are interested in. I appreciate it may be too late now. IF you have done this, you can go back to your saved items in Marketplace. Then click on 'message seller' and your previous conversation will pop up. Infuriating, isn't it?

Earlier this month, I had a chat on Facebook Messenger with a distant cousin in which she shared some information about herself and her lineage that I would like to include in my personal data file in TMG (The Master Genealogist).
