Hello all,
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Alex McNeil. I am a
senior at Temple University and am a representative of the student
group Project EDU. I am contacting you today with hopes of bringing
together as many different individuals and groups as possible to take
a stand for public education in America. October 7th has been declared
a national day of action for education reform! This will be a follow
up to March 4th when students all over the country took to the streets
to voice their concerns about budget cuts and increased privatization
of schools in our country. As students, and citizens, it is of utmost
importance to us that every individual in this country has an equal
opportunity for success. Education is the best investment we can make
in our society and at the rate at which our country is going, few will
be provided with, or able to afford, a quality education in the years
to come.

I look forward to bringing everyone together and hearing your ideas
about how we can make ourselves heard. If you are interested in
attending a planning meeting for this day of action, PLEASE RESPOND TO
THIS E-MAIL and let me know which day/time works best: Tues, 9/14 at
3:30 or Sat, 9/18 at 12:30 (the meeting will be held in the Village;
3rd floor of the Student Center south building at 13th and
Montgomery). Also, PLEASE FORWARD THIS E-MAIL to anyone you think
would be interested. Thank you for your time, I am looking forward to
working with you all!
