Subject: PACT: An Evening with George Lakey, presented by Penn Activists Coming Together

Hey PACT,
See the email below about the PACT event on Wednesday. Spread it far and wide. Peace.

On Wednesday February 10th at 8:30 PM renowned sociologist, civil rights activist and pacifist George Lakey will be speaking to students at the Christian Association (118 S. 37th St). The event is part of the Penn Activists Coming Together (PACT) speakers series. Lakey, who was a Penn student and professor, will be speaking about the legacy of progressive student activism at Penn and, in addition, will assess the current status and prospects of progressives and radicals in Philadelphia and the broader USA. He will be touching on the economic justice, environmental and peace movements and their relation to student life at Penn.

Penn Activists Coming Together (PACT) is a new coalition of progressive and activist student groups and their allies at the University of Pennsylvania. It sponsors speakers, holds activist trainings and works to connect progressives and radicals on campus and in the broader Philadelphia area. It holds meetings every other Wednesday at 8:30 PM at the Christian Association.
