CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
==============================
We invite all roboticists to attend the 2nd annual Northeastern
Robotics Colloquium (NERC) to be held at Harvard University on Sunday
October 6th 2013.
After a very successful inaugural colloquium last year attended by
over 150 participants from 21 universities and 16 companies and
laboratories from the region, NERC is back in 2013! The colloquium
aims to bring together all robotics practitioners in the northeastern
United States through an exciting one-day event that is simultaneously
a research symposium, a job-fair, and a showcase for established and
up-and-coming robotics companies. Ultimately, we hope to promote the
kind of healthy and well-connected robotics community that will be
essential in fueling the field's rapid growth in the coming decade.
The colloquium will feature invited talks by leading local researchers
and professionals, robotics industry booths and demos, and interactive
poster sessions. The program provides the occasion to meet and mix
with other area roboticists and offers unique career and networking
opportunities.
This year's invited talks are:
* 'A Long-term View of SLAM', Prof. John Leonard, MIT.
* 'Next-Generation of Soft Wearable Robots', Prof. Conor Walsh, Harvard.
* 'Dynamic Robots: Mobility, Speed, and Dexterity', Dr. Marc Raibert,
Boston Dynamics Inc.
* 'Robot Hands for the Real World', Prof. Rob Howe, Harvard.
REGISTRATION
==============================
Registration is now open! There is a $50 ($20 students) registration
fee. As a unique feature of this colloquium, we offer registrants the

INTERACTIVE SESSIONS
==============================
The program will include interactive sessions during which
participants can present posters that showcase their research or
products or conduct live demonstrations. The interactive sessions are
integral to the colloquium, and we encourage contributions from
academia and industry alike. There is ample space for demonstrations
and we encourage participants to bring their robots! Submissions of
poster and demonstration proposals can be made during the registration
process. Further details are available here.
