Job Description
This position is an internship in the Intelligent Robotics Laboratory (IRL) at Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Technology Laboratories (ATL).
The tasks for this position generally comprise software or limited hardware design, basic development, and testing of a portion of a concept development prototype as a part of a development team. Projects are currently concentrating on robotic technology areas such as manipulation, autonomous navigation, vehicle control, and perception. The successful candidate will have some experience in the field of robotics, be able to demonstrate creative and innovative problem solving, and will be a confident and motivated individual who enjoys seeking out new challenges.

ATL performs applied research in robotics, artificial intelligence, distributed systems, and embedded processing.Basic Qualifications
• Junior year of college or higher
• Enrolled in robotics, computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering major
• Coursework in robotics
• MATLAB/Simulink experience
• C/C++ development experience
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security ClearanceDesired skills
• Enrolled or attending a graduate program with a focus in robotics
• Practical, hands-on experience with robots
• Proven knowledge in one or more of the follow areas - path/trajectory planning, control systems, or image processing
• Experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS)
• Basic mechanical skills and experience with power tools
• SolidWorks CAD modeling
