Hi All,

Please reply with some insight, suggestions, questions or even just I GOT IT to put my micromanaging mind at ease!

I. So this saturday is the MSA-United fundraiser dinner. Here are the details:

  • This SATURDAY, October 20th. 7pm- 11pm at Montclair State University
  • Tickets: students: $20/ $ nonstudents= $25 and family of 5= $75
  • Volunteers: They need at least five volunteers from each MSA, so if you can please reply to let me know if you're going and maybe we can arrange rides or so, if need be

II. Pink Hijab Day

  • The national day is the 24th of October
  • We should start advertising (flyers, facebook, community forum etc..)
  • Do we want to have a small event in honor? even if it's giving out cookies or pins or whatever?

III. Meetings

  • Almost no one came to the last meeting.. I tried to see what time works best for everyone. We need everyone there so we can make things happen and make sure everyone is communicating. What other times work for you guys ?

What volunteer positions are available? and if we are looking for a urgent meeting time is tomorrow around 4:30 good for everyone? since the event is this saturday. Also for the pink hijab day are we setting up a table like we did last semester with the cupcakes and ribbons ?

What are we looking to do for breast cancer awareness? Just tabling?

We don't necessarily need an emergency meeting . I can't do it tomorrow but if it works for everyone and Nadia is willing to head it, then by all means go for it. 

In terms of volunteer positions, I think we'll be helping with ushering and such in the beginning of the event.

I was asking your input for Pink Hijab day! so any ideas and all ideas are welcomed.

okay so where do we sign up for volunteering cuz nour is interested in volunteering for the event aswell

Lets meet tomorrow at 4:30 in bc cafe and discuss how exactly we are doing the tabling and I need tickets to sell aswell.

I have work as well.. which is what I said earlier. but again,if others who weren't present at the last meeting need updates on the event Saturday , perhaps Nadia and Salma could meet with them (if you're free then girls)

We can have another meeting early next week to quickly discuss ideas for pink hijab day and other things.

If we get a confirmed list of volunteers by tomm, that would be awesome because we need names and phone number to give to the volunteer organizer at MSU.

For pink hijab day, I think a friend of ours made pins for the event, inshallah I'll see if I can get them. Also, if we table, I can get some hijab info from WHYISLAM, they have excellent brochures that are geared specifically towards non-,muslims. And also I have some pamphlets from the susan Komen foundation, if we contact them now, they send a kit overnight.

If we could get from American Cancer Society that would be awesome but if Susan Komen sends overnights, let's do it! I really like that idea, about the pins & scarves too.
