In this amazing pixelated roguelike RPG, you can pick a hero of your choice and adventure into all sorts of dungeons, challenge monsters, and loot your heart out. Of course, just like every roguelike out there, Soul Knight features a plethora of twists and turns (and we're not talking about the turns you take in the dungeons). One of the biggest considerations would also be the characters you play.
Each unique hero you can choose to play in Soul Knight has a backstory, a different price, and a unique starting weapon - after all, you wouldn't expect the Wizard to walk around firing a shotgun, right? And if you've ever thought about which of these powerful warriors should be your main character, keep on reading because we'll tell you everything you need to know. The best heroes in Soul KnightWhat you can expect from a top-tier Soul Knight character is not only strength in terms of attack but also decent health points, Energy, and Armour - this is to make sure you can survive as well as take down enemies in a timely manner.
You will be able to interact in the lobby with all of the characters, where you can also learn a little bit about their personalities and what you can expect from them. Of course, not all of the heroes are made equal, so they can be unlocked by various means - from spending Gems to buying them with real-life money or completing achievements.
It's also good to know that all of the characters have alternate skins that a player can purchase. These won't affect the play style - just the looks of the hero. That's important if you want to keep one or two characters as your main, but still want to change things up a bit in terms of visuals.
Every character can be unique to each player based on the way they like to play the game. Keep in mind that not all the S-tier units will be that good for a player who doesn't actually enjoy playing them - at the end of the day, you should always pick a hero that you genuinely enjoy!
A-tier heroes are pretty good, but there might need to be a little bit more strategy involved in the late-game and during boss fights. They can be powerful, and if you decide to use one of these heroes as your main, you will need to learn all of their strengths and weaknesses to make them shine.
Robot - While the Robot doesn't seem extremely powerful (low stats on average) on paper, his Armour is the second best in the game after the Paladin, and his skills are something to behold as well, which is what lands him in the A tier.
Vampire - With the ability to lifesteal or energysteal (if HP is full), the Vampire is exactly what you might expect - a unit with good sustain and damage, and even with good recovery in the form of Immortal (if unlocked).
Werewolf - While the Werewolf is not among the strongest heroes in the game, he can be quite decent in certain situations. He's a middle-of-the-pack unit with damage increasing proportionally to his HP.
Just like the B tier heroes, these can be quite fun to play, but they definitely don't shine in single-player. The Priest is great, but not a top-tier hero for the unseasoned player since they can be quite difficult to master.
Berserker - As one might expect, the Berserker's DMG is extremely high, but he's lacking in terms of Armour. He can be a fairly good unit at the start with his powerful chaining attacks obliterating enemies, but he tends to lose steam towards the more difficult stages because of his lack of Armour.
Wizard - The Wizard doesn't specialise in Criticals, but has strong attacks that can also apply crowd control. She also has good range, but if enemies get close to her, she's very fragile due to her lack of HP.

Found along the path leading to Greenpath. He is held in the mandibles of a Vengefly King, and the Knight has the choice to either save him or leave him. If saved, he complains that the Knight got in the way between him and his "prey", he introduces himself and boasts about his supposed mighty deeds.
Found stuck in spider webs, presumably having been captured by the beasts of Deepnest. Once again the Knight has the choice to either save him or leave him, though this time leaving him does not result in his death. If saved, he once again complains about the Knight meddling in his supposed heroics.
The White Palace mainly consists of white and light grey architecture. The rooms contain large, tall windows which let in light from the outside. The palace is covered in white-grey leaves, roots, and ferns. Flying creatures can be seen flying away in certain areas. Besides these features, the palace is covered in buzz-saws, thorns, and spikes.
The entrance to the White Palace opens after defeating the Kingsmould that guards it. After entering the palace, another Kingsmould needs to be defeated and a switch needs to be activated to gain access to the atrium of the area. This atrium contains a bench and has two hallways leading to linear areas which each have a switch at the end. Activating both of these switches opens the lift at the top of the atrium. This grants access to the upper palace. The atrium also contains an exit out of the White Palace.
The northern part of the White Palace is fairly linear and eventually leads to the throne room where the Pale King's corpse is sitting on his throne. Hitting him and making him fall off drops his half of the Kingsoul Charm. Once the Pale King has fallen off the throne, the Knight can sit on the throne and a short music box tune starts playing. Picking up the half of the Kingsoul makes the Knight wake up outside the palace. This also prevents the Knight from sitting on the throne, locking the interaction forever and causing the Pale King's corpse to vanish.
The area's only sub-area, the Path of Pain, can be opened by destroying a breakable wall in the room above the lift leading to the upper part of the White Palace. Completing the Path of Pain grants the Seal of Binding entry in the Hunter's Journal. After completing it this sub-area cannot be entered again.
Originally located in the Palace Grounds in Ancient Basin, the White Palace was where the Pale King ruled over Hallownest.[1] Royal Retainers were servants of the King who served in the palace, and the Kingsmoulds were guards of the palace made by the Pale King with Void in his workshop.[2][3] The Hollow Knight was raised in the White Palace before being sealed in the Temple of the Black Egg.[4]
After the Infection returned and Hallownest fell to ruin, the Pale King went into hiding.[5] The White Palace vanished from its location in Ancient Basin, and it seems the Pale King somehow took the palace with him when he fled.[6][7]
The White Palace can be accessed by using the Awoken Dream Nail on the corpse of the Kingsmould in the Palace Grounds in Ancient Basin. The Monarch Wings are required to reach the Palace Grounds. After getting half of the Kingsoul Charm and waking up outside, the White Palace can be entered again by simply using the Dream Nail on the corpse.
White PalaceZote is a traveller from outside Hallownest who came to the Kingdom to fulfill a promise. This is ultimately revealed to be a promise of glory for himself. He named his nail "Life Ender" because names supposedly have power. Unfortunately, because it is made of shellwood, it cannot deal damage. While he claims to be the strongest warrior in the land, he is found trapped by weak enemies or claiming the glory of another bug's deeds. He regards the Knight as beneath him and accuses them of constantly getting in his way.Found along the path leading to Greenpath. He is held in the mandibles of a Vengefly King, and the Knight has the choice to either save him or leave him. If saved, he complains that the Knight got in the way between him and his "prey", he introduces himself and boasts about his supposed mighty deeds.
Hornet is captured by outsider bugs and brought to their kingdom, Pharloom, but she escapes her cage before arriving at their destination. She then must battle foes and solve mysteries to ascend on a deadly pilgrimage to this kingdom's peak.
Health is represented as Masks, shown in the upper-left corner of the screen. Hornet starts the game with 5 Masks and can obtain more. Health is lost by taking damage, either from enemies or from environmental hazards. Health can be regained by the use of the Bind ability consuming a full Silk spool.
Silk is represented as a spool below the health indicator. Thread is consumed when using special abilities, including a form of Focus named Bind. Striking enemies with the Needle fills the spool by two laces. When the spool is full, the symbol representing the side of the spool left to the health indicator is filled.
The Needle is Hornet's main weapon. Not only can she use it to slash or block attacks against enemies, but also to dash forward, stab, and bounce up above them. She can also use it alongside her abilities to deal greater damage or as a grappling hook.
Tools are special items classed by categories, equipped on a Crest with limited slots. They can be used as throwing weapons or defensive aids without costing Silk. Crests and Tools can be changed when sitting on a Bench similar to Charms.
