I got the before and after dredging harbor surveys from Bion about a
month ago for analysis.  In theory, I should be able to drop them into
my model to check the accuracy of the depth extrapolations.  But there's
always a hangup.  In this case, the problem is that the survey data uses
Massachusetts GIS coordinates and my model using latitude/longitude.
One would think the conversion would be simple -- and one would be
wrong.  So that's the next nut to crack.

My plan to figure out the conversion, fold in the new data, do some
analysis, and send out the results.  If there's significant deviation
between the "theory" and the "practice", we should get together and talk
about where revisions to our recommendations are in order.

Enjoy summer, if it ever comes.

Hi Jim:

Glad you are on the case! Took a very quick look for conversion programs and found these two sites - 3 links that might be helpful.

I look forward to discussing realignment of moorings. I think the harbor would benefit from this sooner rather than later.

Best,
