Coalition Members:

Thank you to those that were able to participate on out call last Monday.  I have attached the meeting notes and pasted below for your convenience.

There are a few pressing items I wanted to highlight on this email; please reply back as soon as possible so we can get started:
  1. Strategy Meeting - We agreed to have a strategy meeting this week; I propose either Wed (1/14) or Thur (1/15) at 3:00 PM.  Please respond with your availability and if you can host at your office.
  2. January Kick-off Event -  We are looking to reserve the steps of NYC City Hall on Monday, January 26th, time pending for our 2015 Kick-off Event; please let us know if you have any conflicts or suggest a different date in January.
  3. Twitter Rallies - Will send information out with sample tweets and timeframe for Twitter rallies on the day of the State of the State (1/21) and the day the budget is announced (1/27).
  4. SOS Event - In addition to the Twitter rally, NYIC and CUNY DREAMers have proposed doing an event immediately following the State of the State on 1/21 in Albany and some of the LI groups would like to host something in Long Island as well.  Please let us know if you'll be in either of these areas or can help coordinate the Albany press conference.
Many have mentioned conversations they've had with state legislators on the bill but we are still missing "point-of-contacts" on the legislative tracker we shared.  PLEASE take at look at the tracker and add your notes so that we all have the latest information.  The link is here.

Also, if you have members you'd like to add to the coalition lest have them fill out the enrollment form here.

See you soon!

-Arelis

  • Get Lt. Gov on board & publicly taking this on as a priority

  • We need to focus on compelling stories and steer away from having the issue be political and make it more community
