Weird job in my books. How do you "protect" a planet with stuff
raining down on us all the time? And when we don't fully understand
life on our own planet, how can we protect others from it? (Adams
techniques certainly illustrate this) And if he is a US employee, how
does that ensure a global standard? Pretty leaky job in my books.

As for the article on Star Dust, they seem lacking in logic. They
suggest it may be produced by exploding stars. To me, this article
ignores several important points:

1) The creation of the elements of which the dust is made requires a
solar furnace. ie: a star.

2) They touch on the idea that stars may simply produce dust. But duh
- What happens when you burn stuff? Stars would naturally produce lots
of dust. Blowin in the solar wind...

3) They also seem to assume that there is only one source of dust.
Everything produces dust. It must be an axiom of house cleaners.
