In the run up to 2030 lots of huge urban projects are planned by the
Govt. Notable among these are:-

The Slum upgrading projects which seem to be hitting a snag in as far
as take-up by slum dwellers is concerned. Are we doing it right, or
are we forcing issues the wrong way? Can we find a lasting solutions
to mushrooming of informal settlements in in our urban areas?

The proposed Kenya Railways high-speed double-deck train between
Mombasa and Malaba is set to be operational by 2016. It is envisioned
to shorten the journey between Mombasa and Nairobi to just 3hrs! Would
you call this a bluff, or do you believe it will be realized beyond
our expectations?

The proposed Sh800b ICT Park on 3000 acres at Kitengela will be 3
times bigger that Nairobi's CBD! sounds dreamy, er? But are the
available conditions, both political and economical, suitable to allow
such for a massive undertaking?

All Dreams!!  where are the resources going to be generated  have they planned for that or just pipeline projects to cream off the tax payers!!
The Biggest Threat to the Region is Ecologcal Disaster Climate Change & the many adverse effects to Life sustenance they are unable to satisfy the Energy needs & such mega dreams require Nuclear powered Energy generation, Roads & infrastructure is another reality posing several questions.
These are mere Political Slogans!
Are  you aware of sucking out of the water by Boreholes from underground aquifers which lay in the Fault Lines of this Sesmic Region once they are emptied the Prophets of Doom will have a Hey day when seeing a large part of the ground cave in as you see in some fictional movies will become a reality.
The more I think my beleif that God made Africa  the wway it was created - Aping massive urbanisation on Western Format will bring the species onto the Brink of Extinction through natural Calamities & diseases apart from the strife for dwindling natural resources, finally every thing to be conquered by Nature & Equilibrium restored.
Looks like those Complimentary Mega projects which get drawn up on those sides..........
