I first became involved with things sustainable whilst studying eco
architecture / design many years ago and spent a few months helping to
build Segal style timber-framed eco buildings. I became interested in
Permaculture around the same time and also stayed at the Centre for
Alternative Technology. I have visited and researched intentional
communities such as Laughton Lodge near Lewes. Yet all these great
sources of sustainable inspiration seemed to exist in degrees of
social, geographical or cultural isolation – so it was not until I
discovered Transition ideas a year ago that I could imagine a
sustainable yet integrated way of living. My intention for The Dream
Life project is therefore in part to follow through the potential of
Transition theory into practical designs. I ‘m excited by the idea of
co-creating and ‘ideas banks’ etc but I also have the real need for a
different home since my current one is unsustainable on many levels ! I
have known Natasha for years and we share an interest in sustainable
living and Transitioning.
