Hello,
I have a texture file that I have generated from MATLAB. I have formatted it according to the input file of DREAM 3D version 6.5.17. It has only 5 grains with 8000 elements. But when I load the file in the ODF section and run the pipeline for a 20x20x20 mesh, the generated RVE does not have the exact texture like MATLAB. I am attaching two figures for your reference.

1st picture is from dream 3d and 2nd one is from MATLAB. The first element in the MATLAB 2d image has orientation 1, but the first element in the dream 3d has orientation 7 (I think). Could you please help me align them both?

Think of the orientation data that you are loading as influencing a weighted histogram from which DREAM.3D will select orientations. Due to this randomness each time you run DREAM.3D’s RVE pipeline you will get a slightly different output. Also because of the statistical nature of randomly drawing from these weighted bins of data, the resulting texture should be close but may not match exactly the desired texture.
