I just purchased a Mac Book Pro with the M1 Max processor.  I obtained the latest version of Dream 3D 6.5.163 as a disk image and installed.  In attempting to run Dream 3D is simply see the spinning beach ball.

Any suggestions to resolve this are appreciated.

Thank you

Dave

Can you check if another version of DREAM.3D works? Can you try with 6.5.141? I found this one to work on Linux systems. It can be downloaded at  http://dream3d.bluequartz.net/binaries/DREAM3D-6.5.141-Linux-x86_64.tar.gz.

Best regards,
Krzysztof

Thank you for the suggestion, I was not able to get the Linux version to work but did download the Mac version 6.5.138 and it does run.

I will continue to try to debug the issues with 6.5.163.

Regards

Dave

Interesting that 6.5.138 does run and 6.5.163 does not run on the M1. I can confirm that on my M1 13” MacBook 6.5.163 does spin the beach ball of death. Did a spin dump and it is just spinning down in Rosetta. We do builds of the latest nightly configurations (version 6.6.x) on the same M1 and they at least build. I’ll have to go find the machine and see if I can get a build together. For technical reasons I probably can’t do an M1 Native build of 6.5.163 so if I can get something posted it would be 6.6.x

give that a try. Took some doing but it built. I tested it very lightly and it seems to work.
