Dear Michael,
I would be very thankful if you could guide me on how I can generate a 2D realistic microstructure (one phase) with one element in the thickness direction based on EBSD data using Dream3D. I am wondering if any prebuilt pipeline is available for this.

Best regards,
Samaneh

Hi Samaneh,

You can use previous DREAM.3D pipelines (see Prebuilt Pipelines --> Workshop --> EBSD reconstruction and EBSD statistics) to load and process your 2D EBSD image. These tutorials should guide you on how DREAM.3D works and you can extract a microstructure with one element thickness.

Best regards,
Kris

Hi everyone,
I have created the microstructure by using Dream3D. I really appreciate it if you could guide me on how I can assign Euler angles to each grain in the Abaqus input file.
Best regards,
Samaneh

I am not sure if there is an option to write out the Euler angles with the Abaqus Hexahedron writer filter. You will probably have to export the Feature Data in order to be able to map from the “Feature ID” to the “Average Euler Angle” for that feature.

Dear Mike,
Your response is very much appreciated. The information you provided was both helpful and excellent.
I used this filter "Export Feature Data as CSV File" to export the data. Then, I developed a script to assign the Avg Euler Angles to each section (or grain).
Thanks again and best regards,
Samaneh
