Using dream3D with abaqus sub model

I'm wondering whether dream3D can be used with abaqus submodeling. I've used dream3D to write abaqus input file. But the technique for abaqus sub-modeling I know will require me to do everything in ABAQUS: first the global model and then separating the portion I need to analyze for finer mesh. I don't see the scope of integrating dream3D generated abaqus input file here. Any suggestion?

My intention is to use crystal plasticity material model at the lower length scale (sub-model), but getting the boundary condition for this sub-model from the global model.
