.ang and .ctf files are from EBSD systems. If you have TIFF images then you need to use the “Import Image Stack” filter.

Hi , I Want to create the best Geometery for surface mesh based on .tiff images what is the best pipeline for me ? and the next problem is about Update Error messages in using some filters for Example in import orientation files to EBSD for set refrense frame, the options ( X Dim,Y Dim, X Res, Y Res ) are not Active even for the SmalllN 100 images by .ang format they do not Active. thank you
Which version of DREAM.3D are you currently utilizing for your work? If you click on the "Toolbox" window, then the "Bookmarks" tab, the click on the Prebuilt Pipelines->Workshop->Reconstruction->(01) Small IN100 Archive. Double click that pipeline to open it in DREAM.3D. You should be able to run that pipeline successfully. Can your copy of DREAM.3D run that pipeline?

Hi, yes I can Run it, no problem by Running .ang files in " (01) import " filter. But this pipeline could not get the .tiff files and I Want to use “(10) smallIN100 Full Reconstruction” filter that the first step is (01) pipeline. Can I Replace ITK image filter for first step? Or Can I Match My Stacked Geometry with (10) smallIN 100 filter? Or is Any wey to convert (.tiff) images to .ang and .ctf formats?
My version of Dream.3d is V6( V-6.4.87)

The "(10) smallIN100 Full Reconstruction" prebuilt pipeline was designed exclusively for the Small IN100 data set. The pipeline shows one possibility of how to construct a pipeline to analyze EBSD data. The data from .ang or .ctf data is from an EBSD machine and contains orientations which are critical to how the pipeline segments the data. A Tiff image contains raster data which is typically NOT EBSD data so therefor using TIFF images with the “(10) smallIN100 Full Reconstruction" pipeline would be incorrect. There is another filter called "Import Image Stack" that can be used to import your images into DREAM.3D as a 3D volume. From that point you will need to determine how best to segment your data using the hundreds of different filters that are available. It might help if you could post one of your images to the list so the community can see what your data looks like.

What technique was used to collect this image? Tomography? Optical microscopy? or something else. I would suggest a few tutorials on basic image processing to get yourself familiar with the various techniques that are used in industry. DREAM.3D offers over 100 different image processing filters anyone of which or combination of them may be used to segment the image into its constituent components. After the image is segmented you can then create a surface mesh of the structure.

You should be able to use the “Import Image Stack (3D)” for multiple images or just “ITK:Read Image” for a single image.
NOTE: the JPEG compression routine is a “lossy” algorithm (details in the image are being lost for the sake of smaller file sizes). Because of this JEPG should _never_ be used for scientific data or archival. PNG or TIFF with LZA compression are both better choices because those compression algorithms are “lossless”.
