When I try setting up the reference frame in the 'Import Orientation files to H5EBSD' filter,  an error message pops up "There was an error reading the ctf file.. The error code returned was -100". The data is from an Oxford instrument. Any guess what is going wrong?

Thanks

Boopathy,
Has the .ctf file undergone any type of post processing by an outside program such as something that you or a collaborator have written? Looking up the "-100" error code indicates that the code could not open the file for reading. This could be a permissions issue on the file is mostly likely the issue. What version of DREAM.3D are you running and on what operating system are you running it on.

Thanks

Mike,

Thanks for your time. My mac has OS 10.11.4 and I am using the Dream3D version 6.2.327. I haven't performed any processing on this file. In fact, the " Import Orientation files to H5EBSD' filter works fine on Maddy's (CMU) mac , which uses the same version of the software, for the same .ctf file to get the h5EBSD file.

Hmm. this is very odd. Are you trying to get at the file over a network connection? What version of OS X is Maddy running on her mac? I have to admit that I have not tried DREAM.3D myself on OS X 10.11 but I see no reason why it would not work.

I just tried a CTF file (3D CTF at that) on OS X 10.11.4 using the latest released version of DREAM.3D and it loaded correctly so it may just be something with your computer? can you recopy the file to your computer? maybe something went wrong when it was copied?

I'm on 10.9.5
Yah I tried it on his computer as well. It won't import the file. And the h5ebsd file he sent is one I created on my computer from his CTF file
