PID controller in non Emerson/Fisher Valves

Do you get full functionality of the DeltaV PID function block if you
are using a non Emerson/Fisher brand valve? I was looking into using
a Samson control valve but was concerned the control capabilities may
be changed because of the Samson integrated PID function block in the
positioner.

The impression is your are talking about a FF valve.
As FF is an 'open' standard, the PID function should work. There
should be no difference in functionality between FF function blocks
for different suppliers.
